(Sioux Falls, SD) — Election day is less than a week away and South Dakotans are voting on seven statewide ballot measures. One of those is Initiated Measure 29, which would legalize the use of recreational marijuana for adults. According to the Attorney General’s explanation, the measure would allow adults to have, grow, ingest, and distribute marijuana. It would still be illegal to drive under the influence of marijuana. Recreational marijuana is legal in about half of the states but it’s still illegal under federal law.
