South Dakota’s Graduating Class Score Above National ACT Average

(Sioux Falls, SD) — South Dakota’s most recent graduating class has scored above the national ACT average. The class of 2024 had a composite score of 21-point-1, the national average is 19-point-4. The ACT test is used for college admissions with the highest score possible being 36. Out of over six-thousand South Dakota students that took the test, seven scored 36. In a news release, Secretary of Education Joe Graves said the numbers indicate that South Dakota schools are doing a solid job preparing students.
