(Pierre, SD) — It looks like more South Dakotans favor a new system for primary elections. Out of 500 people surveyed, 55-percent support changing the state’s format. That’s a jump from last November’s poll. Those against it came in at just over 30-percent each time. If passed, Amendment H would create “top-two” primaries for governor, Congress and state legislative and county races rather than political parties conducting separate primary contests.
