(Sturgis, SD) — The City of Sturgis needs a new mayor. Mark Carstensen suddenly resigned yesterday in the middle of his fifth term. He had served the community since 2009. City Council members held an emergency meeting Wednesday night to decide what to do and establish an interim Mayor. They are now taking applications to find someone to replace Carstenson. The interview process is supposed to begin in March.
