(Sturgis, SD) — There appears to be fewer crashes and more drugs at this year’s Sturgis Rally as the event comes to an end. The latest “Rally Tally” shows nearly 300 misdemeanor drug arrests and just over 160 felony drug arrests. There have also been more than 155 DUI arrests as more than 44-hundred citations have been issued in the Sturgis and Rapid City districts. Of the 89 crashes that have taken place, 35 crashes have resulted in injuries. South Dakota Highway Patrol says a crash involving two motorcycles each with a driver and passenger resulted in serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
