(Rapid City, SD) — Some families in Rapid City are scrambling to find a new preschool. It comes after the sudden closure of Little Nest Preschool, which was owned and operated by former Republican state Senator Jessica Castleberry. Families are saying the closure came out of nowhere, happening last Friday over Thanksgiving break. According to parents, there’s been no clear reason given for the closure to them or teachers. Around fifty families have been affected. Castleberry resigned last year after the attorney general announced she had to pay back nearly a half million dollars in COVID-19 funds.
