(Rapid City, SD) — A suspect is now in custody after a shooting in Rapid City that left a man dead on Friday. Twenty-one-year-old Luke Birch is now charged with first-degree murder. Officers responded to the 45-hundred block of Candlewood Place late Friday afternoon for a report of a gunshot heard in the area. Officers found the body of a man who had been shot. Police say Birch knew the victim. The suspect remains in the Pennington County Jail as the investigation is ongoing.
