Three Counties Will Vote On Banning Ballot Tabulator Machines

(Sioux Falls, SD) — Voters in three South Dakota counties will decide if they should ban the use of ballot tabulator machines in future local elections. Petitioners in Gregory, Haakon and Tripp counties say they want to ban the machines because they’re concerned about election security and integrity. If voters decided to pass the measure during the June 4th primary then, auditor’s offices in each county would have to hand-count ballots in the November 5th general election and thereafter.
