(Washington, DC) — Senator John Thune will learn tomorrow if he is the next Senate Majority Leader. Thune and Senators John Cornyn of Texas and Rick Scott of Florida are vying to succeed Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell as Republican leader in the U.S. Senate. Republicans took back the majority in the senate they lost in the 2020 elections. President-elect Trump has not endorsed any of the three senators, but Thune does have the support of his South Dakota colleague, Senator Mike Rounds. Senate Republicans will vote by secret ballot on Wednesday for the new Senate Majority Leader.
