(Washington, D.C.) — South Dakota Senator John Thune believes he and President-elect Donald Trump are building a solid working relationship. This comes as Thune heads into his new role as Senate Majority Leader, one of the highest positions in Washington. He tells Kelo Land News him and Trump have a good line of communication, and they want to get the same things done to address top issues like the economy, energy, national security, and the border. Back in 2021, Trump threatened to support another Republican candidate for Thune’s Senate seat. But Thune says that’s well in the past and he’s focused on the near future when Congress is sworn in early January.
