(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota voters are saying no to just about every ballot measure up for decision in the General Election. Amendment H for a top-two primary election and Initiated Measure 28 to prohibit the state from collecting tax on consumables were blown out in opposition by a wide margin. Two of the measures taking center stage during campaigning, Amendment G to restore abortion access in South Dakota and Initiated Measure 29 to legalize marijuana, were closer calls. But state voters have ultimately decided ‘no’ as Amendment G has failed and IM 29 is currently projected to lose. The only amendment projected to pass is F, which would allow the state to impose work requirements on Medicaid Expansion. And that’s still by the smallest ballot measure voting margin based on the latest numbers.
