(Presho, SD) — The driver of a farm tractor involved in a fatal crash last month is facing multiple charges. Jan Bothma is being charged with second-degree manslaughter, as well as reckless driving and failure to stop at a stop sign in the crash that killed 33-year-old Chance Veurink. The crash happened on April 25th in the Lyman County town of Presho, which is directly between Sioux Falls and Rapid City. South Dakota Highway Patrol says Bothma’s Case I-H farm tractor and sprayer ran through a stop sign and collided with Veurink’s Ford Ranger. Veurink died at the scene. Bothma returns to court May 23rd for arraignment.
