(North Sioux City, SD) — New updates are being shared about a collapsed BNSF train bridge in the Big Sioux River. It happened during the major flooding in the area last month. A BNSF official announced yesterday the bridge has settled a few feet in the river, but there is no threat to public infrastructure. However, removal of the bridge is still being planned out. BNSF says it’s working with the local levee board and the Army Corps of Engineers on the step to remove the bridge debris from the river as quickly and safely as possible.
