(Pierre, SD) — Tuition rates for South Dakota’s public universities are going to be decided today for the coming academic year. The Board of Regents is holding a meeting on the campus of the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. Right now, the current proposal under consideration calls for keeping the rates the same as they were for the current school year. South Dakota lawmakers provided additional funding last month for the universities so that tuition and mandatory fees could remain flat. The additional funding move was the top priority for the Board of Regents last year that was also supported by Governor Noem in her budget plans.
