(Mitchell, SD) — The count is now up to three former Mitchell Legion baseball players pleading guilty to rape charges. According to prosecutors, two incidents happened last summer at a Rapid City hotel involving victims that were 16-year-old. The investigation led to six players on the Mitchell Post 18 Varsity Legion team being charged as adults. Yesterday, Carter Miller and Peyton Mandel appeared in court, and both plead guilty to one count of being an accessory to a felony. In exchange for their pleas, rape charges are supposed to be dropped. Lincoln Bates was the first to plead guilty last week, agreeing to testify in other teammates’ cases.
