Two S.D. Federal District Judges Confirmed By U.S. Senate

(Pierre, SD) — Two new federal district judges in South Dakota are confirmed by the U.S. Senate. Sioux Falls lawyer Eric Schulte was confirmed by a 61-33 vote on Thursday, followed by Friday’s 90-to-4 vote to confirm state circuit court judge Camela Theeler of Sioux Falls. Senators Mike Rounds and John Thune both recommended the nominees on the Senate floor. Pending President Biden’s signature, the confirmations fill vacancies of one-to-three years old.
