(Rapid City, SD) — A man is under arrest and facing numerous charges after an armed standoff took place at a motel in Rapid City. The Rapid City Police Department and the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team responded to the Super 8 motel, in the 25-hundred block of Tower Road early Saturday after someone reported seeing 52-year-old James Lewis Norris Jr.. He was wanted for “1st and 2nd degree rape, sexual contact with a child less than 16 years old, aggravated assault domestic abuse to a minor under the age of seven, false imprisonment, simple assault and felony firearm charges.” Norris was taken into custody in the evening and no injuries were reported.
