(Meade County, SD) — The victim of a recent vehicle crash near Sturgis has died. According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, 82-year-old John Lundin was driving eastbound on SD Highway 34 near Sturgis July 1st when he tried to turn left into a gas station and hit a westbound vehicle head-on. Lundin died in the hospital three days later. Two people from the other vehicle suffered non life-threatening injuries.
