(Watertown, SD) — A Watertown business is providing jobs to people from Ukraine who came to South Dakota seeking refuge from the ongoing war. Glacial Lakes Rubber and Plastics founder and president Robb Peterson says it started as an opportunity to find new employees in a shrinking employment pool. But he quickly found out how helpful it’s become for Ukrainian families escaping their war-torn country and find a home to start over. Freedom’s Haven coordinator Lee Gabel says he believes they are fitting in really well despite any potential language barriers.
