(Pierre, SD) — Governor Noem remains on the shortlist of potential vice president candidates for former President Donald Trump’s crack at a second term in the White House. The 52-year-old Republican Governor has been vocal about helping Trump defeat Democratic President Joe Biden this year but stated she would rather remain in South Dakota. If Noem is nominated for the VP spot, she insists she will still get to be governor of South Dakota even while she would be away campaigning nearly full-time. However, Lieutenant Governor Larry Rhoden — second-in-command to Noem — would likely take over executive power under law citing “continuous absence” in the South Dakota Constitution.
