Winter Weather Moves On South Dakota To Start Weekend

(Pierre, SD) — South Dakotans can expect high winds and maybe some snow in areas across the state to start off the weekend. Western South Dakota is forecasted to first experience a light dusting of about one inch of snow with the majority falling in the northern Black Hills. As the system moves east, one to two inches of snow will fall in the eastern part of the state. High winds will make visibility tough, especially in open rural areas. According to the SD Department of Transportation, there will likely be gusts ranging from 40 to 50 miles an hour in some places.
