Woman Faces 15-Years In Death Of Brother

(Sioux Falls, SD) — A South Dakota woman is facing a maximum of 15-years in prison after reportedly admitting to killing her brother. Court documents say Lucy Medicine Eagle plans to plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter and in return, will have a second-degree murder charge dropped. In the court documents, she admits that in March 2022, she struck her brother until he became unconscious because she was drinking and thought he took her gaming console. He died days later in the hospital. Medicine Eagle’s sentencing date is unknown at this time.
