(Houston, TX) — The stage is set for the College Football Playoff National Championship Game. Top-ranked Michigan will meet second-ranked Washington in this year’s title game after both won semifinals on New Year’s Day. The Wolverines knocked off fourth-ranked Alabama in overtime 27-20 at the Rose Bowl to earn their first-ever trip to the CFP title game. The Huskies held on to beat third-ranked Texas 37-31 in the Sugar Bowl, also earning their first ticket to the CFP championship. Michigan is seeking its first national title since 1997. U-Dub’s last national championship was back in 1991. The CFP Championship Game will be played next Monday in Houston.
