A’s Now Planning to Build Ballpark at Tropicana Site

(Las Vegas, NV) — The Oakland A’s are now planning to build their future Las Vegas ballpark at the current site of the Tropicana. The casino-hotel would be demolished to make room for the 30-thousand seat, one-point-five-billion-dollar retractable roof stadium. The A’s entered into an agreement with Bally’s Corporation, the owner of the Tropicana, on Tuesday. The new agreement for the land on The Strip comes just a few weeks after the A’s entered into an agreement for land just west of The Strip. The A’s needed 500-million-dollars in public funding from the Nevada Legislature to build on the initial site. The Tropicana site instead requires 395-million-dollars in public funding.
