(Englewood, CO) — The Broncos are parting ways with the team’s longest-tenured player. Denver is releasing two-time Pro Bowl safety Justin Simmons prior to the start of the new league year. The 30-year-old was set to have the fourth-highest salary cap charge on the team for next season at 18.25-million dollars. The move saves the Broncos 14.5-million dollars against the salary cap. Simmons appeared in no playoff games during his eight-year tenure with the franchise. Since entering the league as a third-round draft pick in 2016, Simmons has recorded a league-high 30 interceptions.
