(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins might be getting their best defender back in the field this season. Byron Buxton announced at TwinsFest on Saturday that he will return to center field in 2024. Buxton spent all of 2023 as Minnesota’s designated hitter as he dealt with an injured knee. He won a Gold Glove in center field during the 2017 season. Last year as a DH, he hit .207 with 17 home runs and 42 RBI. In other team news, former general manager Terry Ryan and bullpen coach Rick Stelmaszek were elected to the Twins Hall of Fame over the weekend.
