(Undated) — The Chicago Blackhawks will get the chance to select their next franchise player. The Blackhawks climbed two spots after winning the NHL Draft Lottery, and will select first overall in the upcoming draft. This is the first time since selecting Patrick Kane in 2007 that Chicago will make the first pick. The Anaheim Ducks will pick second and the Columbus Blue Jackets will choose third overall. The Arizona Coyotes will make two picks in the first round after sending defenseman Jakob Chychrun to the Ottawa Senators for this year’s first rounder. Canadian prospect Connor Bedard is expected to go first overall after recording 71 goals and 72 assists in the WHL this past season.
