(Undated) — The Purple People Eaters could be sending another player to Canton. Former Vikings defensive end Jim Marshall was one of 31 players named as a Hall of Fame semifinalist for the Seniors category yesterday. Marshall played 19 of his 20 seasons with the Vikings and their vaunted defensive line that included Hall of Famers Carl Eller and Alan Page. He also played in 282 consecutive games during his career, which is the most by a defensive player in NFL history, but he is best known for running into the wrong end zone after recovering a fumble in 1964. The semifinalist list will be cut down to 12 players on July 27th.
