Fowler And Schauffele Make History At US Open

(Los Angeles, CA) — A pair of players made history during the opening round of the US Open at Los Angeles Country Club. Rickie Fowler and Xander Schauffele are tied atop the leaderboard at eight under par after each became the first player in US Open history to post a 62. Fowler and Schauffele also tied the lowest score in a major championship, Branden Grace shot a 62 in the third round of the Open Championship in 2017. Wyndham Clark and Dustin Johnson are tied for third place at six under par. Vincent Norrman, Charley Hoffman and Brent Grant will be among the first group of players teeing off the second round of the tournament.
