Gray, Lopez Look Sharp In All-Star Game; Twins Wrap-Up MLB Draft

(Seattle, WA) — Sonny Gray and Pablo Lopez shined during the MLB All-Star Game in Seattle. While the American League lost to the National League 3-2, Gray and Lopez both did their part by each pitching a scoreless inning. Gray struck out Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. and Dodgers superstar Mookie Betts in the third, while Lopez got the best of Mets slugger Pete Alonso and Rockies catcher Elias Diaz in the ninth. The pair will now get ready for their return to the rotation when the Twins start back up on Friday.

The Twins also put the finishing touches on their 2023 MLB Draft class by selecting ten players yesterday. Minnesota added first baseman Sam Parker, outfielder Ashton Larson, and eight pitchers on the third-and-final day of the draft. Minnesota selected 21 total players during this year’s draft.
