(Iowa City, IA) — The Iowa Hawkeyes will be without their starting quarterback for the rest of the 2023 campaign. Head coach Kirk Ferentz told reporters Tuesday that Cade McNamara has a torn ACL and won’t be able to return this year. McNamara suffered the injury in the first quarter of Iowa’s win over Michigan State on Saturday. The transfer from Michigan completed just over 51-percent of his passes for 505 yards, four touchdowns, and three picks in five games this season. Deacon Hill is expected to start for Iowa the rest of the way. Iowa is 4-and-1 on the season and hosts Purdue this Saturday.
