(Orlando, FL) — The Sunshine State is the spot for the annual NFL League Meeting. Team owners and coaches started the event in Orlando on Sunday. One major change being discussed is how kickoffs are being handled moving forward. The Competition Committee already proposed a new rule where the kicking and receiving teams are placed in a “blocking” formation down field. The kicker and returner are the only ones allowed to move until the ball is fielded, then all players are allowed to block and attempt tackles. The new rule also puts touchbacks at the 35-yard line, which is supposed to deter kickers from booting the ball out of the end zone. Owners are expected to vote on the measure this week. The meetings wrap up on Wednesday.
