Report: Northwestern Names Former NDSU DC Braun As Interim Head Coach

(Evanston, IL) — Northwestern has decided on who will run its football program for the upcoming season. ESPN reports that Wildcats defensive coordinator David Braun has been named the interim head coach for the 2023 campaign. Braun takes over a program in turmoil following the firing of longtime head coach Pat Fitzgerald amid hazing allegations throughout the program. Braun joined Northwestern in January after the hazing investigation had already been initiated. He spent the last four years as the DC at North Dakota State, where he was named the FCS Coordinator of the Year in 2021.
