Seguin Drafted in CFL Draft by Ottawa Redblacks

OTTAWA, Canada – Former North Dakota defensive lineman Quintin Seguin was selected by the Ottawa Redblacks in the sixth round of the 2023 CFL Draft late Tuesday night. With the addition of Seguin, the Redblacks now have two Fighting Hawks on their squad, also drafting Tyron Vrede (2018-19) in the 2021 CFL Draft.

Seguin spent five seasons (2017-2021) as a Fighting Hawk before transferring to Charleston Southern for the 2022 season. At UND, Seguin appeared in 44 games and tallied 90 tackles (40 solo), 8.5 tackles-for-loss and five sacks. Last season at CSU, Seguin recorded 28 tackles (15 solo), a sack and two quarterback hurries.

There are now five UND products on active rosters in the Canadian Football League: Seguin and Vrede (Ottawa Redblacks), Brady Oliveira and Evan Holm (Winnipeg Blue Bombers) and Mason Bennett (Hamilton Tiger-Cats).
