Seventh-Inning Surge Leads Dodgers Past Twins

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Los Angeles Dodgers smoked a pair of solo shots in the top of the seventh to earn a 4-2 win over the Minnesota Twins at Target Field. James Outman and Shohei Ohtani both took Jay Jackson deep to break a 2-2 tie. James Paxton earned his second win after giving up two runs on three hits in six innings, while Evan Phillips picked up his fourth save. The Dodgers improved to 9-and-4 on the season. Manuel Margot homered in the losing effort, and Jackson was tagged with the loss out of the pen. Minnesota has dropped five of six.

The 3-and-5 Twins send Louie Varland to the mound against Los Angeles tonight. In other club news, the Twins placed reliever Daniel Duarte on the injured list yesterday and recalled infielder Jose Miranda from St. Paul.
