Sixth Inning Rally Leads Twins Past Yankees

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Twins scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth during a 6-2 win over the New York Yankees at Target Field. The game was tied at two entering the frame, but Byron Buxton put the Twins ahead with a two-run jack. Trevor Larnach followed up with another two-run home run later in the inning. Joe Ryan earned his league-leading fifth win after giving up one earned run and an unearned run in seven innings of work. The Twins have clinched a season-series win over the Bronx Bombers for the first time since 2001. Minnesota is in first place in the AL Central at 14-and-10. The Twins will go for the sweep with Kenta Maeda on the mound against the Yankees today.
