Twins Blow Lead To Tigers

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins couldn’t hold on to an early three-run lead and dropped their series opener to the Detroit Tigers 8-4 at Target Field. Donovan Solano smoked a three-run home run during a four-run second, but Jovani Moran surrendered three runs in the top of the fifth to give Detroit the lead. Tigers ended the game with seven unanswered runs after plating three runs in the ninth. Moran was charged with his second loss in relief, but the Twins remain in first-place in the AL Central at 35-and-34. Joe Ryan starts for Minnesota against Detroit tonight.
