Twins Drop Finale Against Guardians

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins were held to just five hits during a 2-1 loss to the Cleveland Guardians at Target Field. Minnesota gave up a pair of RBI extra base hits in the top of the seventh to go down by two. Willi Castro cut into the deficit with a solo home run in the eighth, but Emmanuel Clase closed the door on Minnesota in the ninth. Royce Lewis suffered a face injury during a collision on the base path in the eighth inning, but he told reporters that he’s feeling okay. Joe Ryan was tagged with his third loss after allowing two runs on two hits in six-and-two-thirds innings. The Twins remain in first place in the AL Central at 31-and-29. They visit the Tampa Bay Rays tomorrow night.
