(Miami, FL) — The Twins ran into the Sandy Alcantara-buzzsaw in a 1-0 loss to the Marlins in Miami. Alcantara held Twins hitters to just three hits in a complete game shutout. Kenta Maeda nearly matched him in his first start since having Tommy John surgery in 2021. Maeda struck out nine and gave up just one run in five-plus innings before he came off the field with a trainer. The Twins said that Maeda was just dealing with arm fatigue and shouldn’t miss his next start. The Twins dropped to 4-and-1, and they send Pablo Lopez to the mound against his former Marlins squad today. In other team news, Minnesota pushed tomorrow’s home opener back to Friday due to weather concerns.
