(Chicago, IL) — The Twins officially placed a starting pitcher on the injured list for the second time in less than a week. Tyler Mahle was placed on the 15-day injured list yesterday. The Twins announced earlier this week that Mahle would be shut down for at least a month after he suffered a right arm injury during his start against the Royals. Mahle is 1-and-2 with a 3.16 ERA in five starts this season. Minnesota recalled Louie Varland from St. Paul to replace Mahle’s spot on the roster. Varland started yesterday’s game against Chicago.
