Twins Sign First-Rounder Jenkins

(Minneapolis, MN) — Walker Jenkins is officially a member of the Twins organization. Minnesota inked the fifth-overall pick from this month’s draft to a signing bonus just north of seven-point-one million dollars. Jenkins signed his contract close to yesterday’s deadline for first-rounders to sign, but Twins president of baseball operations Derek Falvey and Jenkins’ agent Scott Boras said there were no medical issues ahead of the signing. Jenkins will be assigned to Minnesota’s rookie complex in Fort Myers, Florida.
