(East Rutherford, NJ) — The Minnesota Vikings look to avenge their loss in the 2022-23 NFC Wild Card round when they open the season with a game against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on Sunday. The Purple lost to New York 31-24 in that contest before going just 7-and-10 as an encore in 2023. Kirk Cousins left the Vikings in free agency, and his first-round replacement JJ McCarthy suffered a season-ending knee injury in preseason. Minnesota will begin the season with Sam Darnold under center as he returns to his first NFL home stadium. The Vikings have won the last four regular season meetings between the two teams. Sunday’s game kicks off at noon.
