Vikings Trade Up For McCarthy, Turner

(Detroit, MI) — The Minnesota Vikings made the first trade in the 2024 NFL Draft, swapping their 11th pick for the New York Jets’ 10th pick. The Vikings used the 10th pick to select Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy. The Vikings also sent picks 129 and 157 to the Big Apple and received pick 203. Additionally, the Vikings traded their 23rd overall pick, a 2024 fifth-round pick, a 2025 third-round pick, and a 2025 fourth-round pick for the Jacksonville Jaguars’ pick at number 17. With the 17th pick, the Vikings selected Alabama pass rusher Dallas Turner. Turner had 10 sacks last season for the Crimson Tide. Minnesota doesn’t have any picks in Day Two of the draft tonight.
