Helpline Center Celebrates One Year Of 988

(Pierre, SD) — The Helpline Center is celebrating a big milestone this weekend after one official year of South Dakota 9-8-8. 9-8-8 is an important resource for people who are struggling with substance abuse, mental health or suicidal thoughts. The Helpline Center says that their mental health counselors have reached over 75-hundred individuals, anyone 12 and up, and from every county in the state in just the first year. Every call from a 605 number is routed to masters-level trained mental health professionals that are ready and willing to assist at any time of the day.
