(Arnegard, ND) — Agriculture in McKenzie County is being impacted by a huge water spill. The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality says over 160-thousand gallons of produced water was spilled Sunday from a leaking pipeline six miles west of Arnegard. Produced water is a by-product of the oil industry. The Department of Environmental Quality says federal and state laws require that operators report the spillage of any materials that may pollute the soil. State authorities are inspecting the spill site.
