Dairy Cattle Need Negative Bird Flu Test To Move States

(Pierre, SD) — There’s a new effort to control the recent avian flu outbreak in dairy cattle. Dairy cattle must test negatively for avian flu before they can cross state lines starting on Monday. The U.S. Department of Agriculture made the order this week. Avian flu was confirmed on April 9th in South Dakota. It has also been confirmed in Idaho, Kansas, Michigan, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio and Texas.
