(Cass County, ND) — The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public about a phone scam targeting people in the area. Authorities say the scammers will call or text people saying they have a warrant for failure to appear for jury duty, and then demand the victim transfer money to avoid arrest. The Sheriff’s Office says if you receive a call like this, hang up and contact the Red River Regional Dispatch Center and request to speak with a deputy.
