Authorities Detail Woman’s Death At Mitchell Truck Stop

(Mitchell, SD) — A gruesome investigation is underway in Mitchell. It comes after the discovery of a woman’s partially dismembered body at a truck stop near I-90. South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley is now working with the Davison County Sheriff and Mitchell Police Chief to figure out what happened to Melody Gooch, who was from Detroit, Michigan. Jackley shared an update yesterday, saying the 57-year-old woman’s body was discovered on the property of the “I-29 Travel Center” on March 11th just before p.m. following a 9-1-1 call. A suspect has been taken into custody already, thanks to the help of multiple law enforcement agencies. Surveillance video led investigators to identify a semi-truck that connected them to 50-year-old Anthony Harris, also from Detroit, who was found in Washington and arrested on a warrant for second-degree murder.
