NFL Franchise Tag Window Opens On Tuesday

(Undated) — NFL teams have some tough decisions to make on Tuesday. The franchise tag window opens at 4PM Eastern. Teams are allowed to “tag” one player scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent, which would allow them to play under a one-year contract next season. The value of the deal is based on the average of the top five salaries in that player’s position. Several key players are expected to be tagged including New York Giants star running back Saquon Barkley, Cincinnati Bengals dynamic receiver Tee Higgins and Carolina Panthers explosive pass rusher Brian Burns. The franchise tag period runs until March 5th.
