Search For Missing Woman In Bemidji Ends

(Bemidji, MN) — A two-day search for an Indigenous woman who went missing in Bemidji nearly two years ago has ended. More than 100 volunteers joined law enforcement in the search of more than 150 acres for clues in the disappearance of Nevaeh Kingbird. The 15-year-old disappeared in October of 2021 and investigators have conducted more than a dozen searches in the area since then. Searchers were also hoping to find leads in the disappearances of Damon Boyd and Jeremy Jourdain, teens who also have gone missing in the last decade. Bemidji police say that some items collected during the search will be sent for testing. Officials are calling the effort the largest search for a missing Indigenous person in state history.
